What is offline Aadhaar KYC?

Modified on Mon, 3 Apr, 2023 at 12:47 PM

Offline Aadhaar KYC, or OKYC, is a process of verifying a customer's identity and other details through their Aadhaar card. It is a legally compliant KYC method per the guidelines of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).

Under this process, the customer provides their Aadhaar card number and verifies it with an OTP sent to their Aadhaar-linked mobile number. Upon successful verification, the customer will get access to a downloadable XML file that contains all the details that can be derived from an Aadhaar card, such as name, gender, date of birth, and address. The file is locked by default, and the customer must set up a 4-digit access code to unlock it and view its contents.
